Kha Graduates Cum Laude

Campus

We are delighted to announce that Michelle Kha, Campus High School, 2020, has graduated from Amherst College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Biophysics, Cum Laude.

Michelle’s honors thesis, titled “Visualization and Characterization of Key Neurons Located in the Midbrain and Brainstem Involved in Sensory Processing Responses in Mice,” was conducted under the guidance of the Fénelon Lab at UMass-Amherst. This work qualified her for a degree with Latin honors and led to her induction into the Society of Sigma Xi, the International Scientific Research Honor Society. As an associate member of Sigma Xi, Michelle is recognized for her outstanding research abilities.

This summer, Michelle will spend time at home preparing to apply to graduate school. She also plans to pursue biomedical research programs, continuing her scientific discovery and innovation journey.

Congratulations on your achievements, Michelle!

Amanda Phanivong participates in class trip to The Big Apple!

Amanda Phanivong Visits the Big Apple

We’re honored to help Amanda Phanivong (Campus High School, ’20) participate in a New York trip hosted by the Elliott School of Communication at Wichita State University.

The purpose of the trip was to explore how different communities and cultures interact, as well as meeting with the following employers: Microsoft, Wasserman, TBWA\Chiat Day Agency and Mt. Sinai.

Amanda says, “As part of my international and intercultural communication course, having the opportunity to go to New York taught me about the diverse communities that reside in New York, as well as New York culture overall. I was able to visit Little Italy and Chinatown and was exposed to the different languages, as well as different foods which are a big part of both cultures. I also got to visit many historical places and learned about their significance to the community and American culture.”
