Background & Upbringing

Landon was born in Wichita to a single mother who instilled independence and confidence in him from a young age. He was later adopted by his father, a firefighter who taught him the value of hard work and a heart for serving others—something Landon now lives for and finds joy in. Growing up in the firehouse and following his dad wherever he went, he was consistently pushed to step up and lead, no matter what was in front of him.

Athletics & Mentorship

Landon was deeply invested in sports, playing baseball on high-level teams through his sophomore year and making it to the state level. Following his playing career, he spent around four years coaching Little League baseball, from T-ball to kid pitch. Through coaching, he focused on building confidence in his players and teaching them how to face adversity. One of the most meaningful parts of this experience was leading his teams in the Lord’s Prayer before games. He is also a dedicated fan of Bronco football and KU basketball.

Academic & Legal Pursuits

At school, Landon values academics and has developed a strong passion for law. He studied law at Northeast and competed on the mock trial team as an attorney for all four years of high school. During that time, his team won regional competitions every year and placed as high as second in the state. His success and passion for law are largely attributed to his mentor and teacher, Dean Kucklemen, who played a key role in shaping his love for learning.

Student Leadership & Advocacy

Landon is a dedicated advocate for students, particularly when it comes to their rights and amplifying their voices. He served as student body president, was a member of the National Honor Society, and now helps lead a group that represents over 40,000 students to the Board of Education and the Wichita city government.

Work Experience & Personal Interests

Through his work in restaurants, Landon has developed a love for cooking and experimenting with unique and creative foods. He also has a passion for plants, owning over 10 tropical varieties. This is a hobby he shares with his mother and plans to continue throughout his life.

Future Goals

Landon plans to attend the University of Kansas to study business management, with the goal of also spending a summer in Korea gaining experience in the business world. After completing his education, he hopes to return to Wichita and invest in his community in meaningful ways. Currently, he envisions pursuing a law degree and practicing locally, while remaining open to wherever God leads him.

Faith & Impact

Faith is the foundation of Landon’s life. His relationship with Jesus, along with the support of his church community, has shaped his character and purpose. He leads a ministry focused on teaching others how to share their testimonies, an experience that has transformed his perspective on evangelism. Through this work, he has helped guide around 70 students in sharing their faith while growing in his own leadership, communication, and teaching abilities.

Legacy & Values

Landon is honored to carry the name of the O’Shaughnessy family and strives to represent it well in all that he does. He is committed to being a lifelong learner and dedicates his life to serving others. His life is guided by his favorite verse:
“Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.” — Ephesians 5:20–21
