Information and Procedures for Free Braces
Dr. James K Dillehay, of Dillehay Orthodontics in Wichita was a good friend of Timothy. He was inspired by our 2023 golf tournament, and then nudged again when our email was sent out announcing our new scholars. He contacted the family and said, “I don’t have a lot of money to make a significant donation, but I have a skill set that may greatly impact some of the scholars. In honor of Timothy, I will provide free braces for any Timothy P. O’Shaughnessy scholar. I will offer Invisalign for my lab fee costs, which is $1,700.
Information from Doctor Dillehay:
“The average braces orthodontic patient in our office is seen typically on 8-12 week intervals. Because the scholars are selected 6-8 months from their departure for college, the typical appointment intervals may not work. But I may be able to implement some remote treatment monitoring solutions to facilitate their care. If it is a case that could reasonably be treated to a high standard using clear aligners, that could also be an option, which combined with remote monitoring can allow for significantly greater appointment intervals of 20 or more weeks. Due to the associated lab bill with aligners, I would donate all the treatment planning, diagnosis and implementation, but I must ask the scholars to pay for the lab bill ~$1700.
Let me know if you have additional questions. Being that each case is unique- their treatment needs are thus. So the first step in delivering treatment would be having consults for those interested to assess their needs.
If you are interested and would like to schedule a free consultation to see if this would work for you, please contact Claudette Glenn, and she’ll coordinate with the dental office.
