Activities and Interests:

Caleb Rogers was born at Fort Carson in Colorado to his mother, Susan Rogers, and his father, Adam Rogers. He also has a younger sister, Brooklynn Rogers. After multiple moves due to his father’s military involvement, his family settled in Kansas, where he has lived since 2011. He attributes much of his success to his family’s support and value for perseverance.

Caleb attended Derby North Middle School and is a current senior at Derby High School. During his academic career in high school, he has challenged himself with a rigorous course load and achieved standing as one of the highest-ranked students in his class. In addition to his academic pursuits, Caleb serves many varying and interconnected roles in his community. He currently serves as Derby High School’s DECA Chapter President, leading his chapter in being part of an international community of motivated students exploring the field of business. Over his past two years of involvement in DECA, Caleb has medaled at local, regional, and state competitions and developed a growing interest in business studies. In addition, he is a member of the DHS National Honor Society Chapter, a current Varsity player on the DHS Tennis Team, and a cellist in the DHS Philharmonic Orchestra. What he has come to love most through his involvement is being part of his school’s Student Council. He has acquired significant student leadership experiences through his involvement with Student Council, serving as both Junior Class President and current Senior Class President, attending the 2024 KSHSAA Student Council Summer Leadership Workshop, and getting to be a crucial part of nearly every school event at DHS. Caleb’s involvement has cemented his value for opportunities for growth and provided him with invaluable leadership experiences.

Throughout high school, Caleb has pursued opportunities to make a positive impact on his local community. He has served as a small group leader and steering committee member for Panther Leadership Academy, a three-day program teaching leadership skills to elementary school students, and a volunteer lab assistant for STEMKAMP, a summer day camp providing 3rd through 8th-grade military-family students with engaging STEM experiences. Caleb has been part of Panther Crew, helping to orient freshmen and new students to his large high school, and is a Peer Mentor for a Reality 101 class, providing advice and guidance to freshmen beginning their high school careers. Caleb has had many rewarding experiences as a result of his desire to contribute to the well-being of his community.

In the future, Caleb plans to pursue degrees in economics and entrepreneurship in order to attain the knowledge necessary to achieve his professional and personal goals. He wants to fulfill his passions for the studies of economics and business while working towards his long-term goal of becoming a professional entrepreneur. He currently awaits admission decisions from several colleges and universities.

Caleb is immensely honored to become a Lifelong Learning Scholar. He looks forward to future experiences with the Timothy P. O’Shaughnessy Foundation and is grateful to have this opportunity to fuel his passion for learning in a way that reflects Timothy’s legacy.
