Lovett Graduates with Dual Degree

Southeast

Last month, Hendrix Lovett (Southeast, 2021) graduated from Webb Institute with a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.

During his time at Webb, Hendrix conducted award-winning research on the Titanic, earning Webb’s Thesis Award and a nomination for the Student Paper Award by the New York Metro division of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. His work is now being developed for publication in partnership with his thesis adviser.

Post-graduation, he will begin his career as a Hydrodynamics Engineer within the Naval Architecture Division at Electric Boat in New London, Connecticut. In this role, he will help design the U.S. Navy’s next generation of nuclear-powered submarines.

We’re incredibly proud of all he’s accomplished and look forward to what’s ahead!

Lovett wraps up summer internship with a full-time offer!

Southeast

Hendrix Lovett, Wichita Southeast High School, 2021, has completed his six-week internship at Kiel Maritime in Darwin, Australia. It is safe to say he has fallen in love with all things Aussie, which is good because he returned to the States with an offer for a full-time post-graduation position!

Kiel Maritime was founded in July 2018 to assist local maritime operators in their vessels’ operational and legislative needs. The company has grown, supporting locals with maritime services and advice. In January 2020, they established a branch on Phillip Island, Victoria, and in July 2021 launched a new office in Perth to ensure they could keep up with client demand.
